Reviews of 'Somewhere Beneath It All...' by Dave Florez:

'Hard- hitting drama burns bright.'

**** Metro

'A sharp, inventive piece of theatre, impeccably delivered.'

**** The Scotsman

The world premiere of Dave Florez’s dark, redemptive monologue about lost love and Alzheimer's. Directed by five-time Fringe First winner, Hannah Eidinow.

This co-production with Phil Nichol’s Comedians’ Theatre Company reunites Dave Florez and Hannah Eidinow - the creative team behind 2011’s Scotsman Fringe First winner Somewhere Beneath It All, A Small Fire Burns Still.

Come and spend an hour with Emily and let the sands of time and tide wash over you. Take a walk down memory lane as she tries to reclaim her history from her infallible mind.

Writer Dave Florez won a Fringe First for Somewhere Beneath It All, A Small Fire Burns Still at Edinburgh 2011. His play The Intervention is one of the theatre highlights of the Assembly Rooms Fringe programme. He was a Royal Court Young Writer and UK delegate for the International Young Playwrights Festival. His first full-length play, Afterbirth, was developed at NT Studio and premiered at Arcola Theatre in 2005.

Hannah Eidinow has won five fringe firsts for Somewhere Beneath it All, A Small Fire Burns Still (Edinburgh) and An Instinct for Kindness (Edinburgh, Trafalgar Studios and national tour), Lockerbie: Unfinished Business (Edinburgh and UK tour), What I Heard About Iraq (Edinburgh, UK Tour and West End) and Gone (Edinburgh and West End). Recent credits include A British Subject (Edinburgh and Brits Off-Broadway, Arts Theatre), Mood Swing (Edinburgh, New York) and The Lady From The Sea (Arcola).

Performed by Joanna Bending, whose stage credits include The Master and Margarita (National Theatre), Mountain Language (Royal Court Theatre) and Two Women for One Ghost (Regents Park).

Comedians Theatre Company productions have included The Zoo Story (Stage Acting Excellence Award), True West, Talk Radio, The School for Scandal, Breaker Morant, Cul-de-Sac and Somewhere Beneath it All, A Small Fire Burns Still. This year the CTC is producing The Intervention (Assembly), Shopping Centre and The Mysterious World of Clovis van Darkhelm. Itch: A Scratch Event continues to run at the Pleasance.
